I am offering a comprehensive drum instruction program for beginning to advanced players of all ages. My teaching philosophy is based on many years of study and performance playing drums and percussion as well as piano and other instruments. I have developed a lesson plan that progressively advances the student through a variety of fundamental skills that every aspiring drummer should develop regardless of what style of music they want to play. The individual student's level of ability and experience determines where they begin. I have been playing drums for 14 years and have played professionally in an extensive variety of musical settings including Jazz, Classical, Rock, Blues, Punk, Funk, World Music, etc. I have an associate degree in music from Amarillo College and also studied music at the University of North Texas. Lessons are $15 per half hour and $30 per hour. Lesson topics include: How to read and write snare and drum set notation Four-way drum set coordination and independence Learn a variety of drum set grooves and styles Learn rudiments and snare technique Learn economy of motion around the drum set Learn principles of effective and efficient practice How to play with a click track Drum tuning Odd time signatures Polyrhythms Please see my website for further information: www.dustinadams.com
